Avg. Attendance 15 - 25
This event is geared towards the startup community, so it brings in a much different crowd than most 'morning coffee' events. Each week, one or two startup founders come by The Exchange in Bentonville and give a brief presentation of their business (and how the community can help 'em out), and then a wide-ranging conversation ensues covering everything from overcoming obstacles to hiring considerations to finance, and more. 1 Million Cups is a great spot to learn about what's 'next' in the Northwest Arkansas business community while making some great connections at the same time.
The doors to Modus Shop will open for another round of banter from some of our favorite folks in the community. If you're not familiar with the term, Pecha Kucha is the Japanese word for chit-chat that describes a presentation style in which a speaker shares 20 images on a topic of their choice for 20 seconds a slide (six minutes and 40 seconds total). In simplest terms, a PK is kind of like a big party where the presentations are the game — fun, social, but often informative and interesting.
The shop is attached to our office on Church Street in downtown Fayetteville, so feel free to walk over after work on Friday if you're in the neighborhood. We have a great lineup for this spring session and Andy Sparks will be on site with another round of tasty pizzas. All are welcome, spread the word!
